The result is an unprecedented and completely original poetry collection, published by the Pordenone Library. The idea came from director Ofelia Tassan Caser, who has always been passionate about poetry and art. The occasion was the exhibition, dedicated to Vietri, set up on the occasion of Pordenonelegge (Pordenone reads). The opening was attended by four poets, Giacomo Vit, Silvio Ornella, Franco Buffoni and Milo De Angelis, who read their pieces, creating an intense and delicate cultural moment. «Vietri’s painting,» said De Angelis, «expresses the strength and intensity of something that is about to happen. The figures are shot from behind, with decisive colors and black and white contrasts. The spasmodic expectation of something terrible emerges, but when this “something” will come, then the question of sense, which pervades his pieces, might be answered.» Vietri’s paintings are a denunciation of the society that has led people to lose their identity. Vietri has painted extensively and collaborated with numerous publishing houses. His illustration of “the accidiosi” in the Divine Comedy is worth seeing and admiring. A rare 1965 edition of only 500 copies.
